Former Texas Overseer Departs from the Work The following information about this case is believed to be factual. If anything in this article can be shown to be inaccurate, please contact TLT and a correction will be entered. ![]() Ira Hobbs Ira Hobbs was the overseer of the 2x2 ministry in Texas when a letter accusing him of past sexual abuse was posted on the TMB forum on September 17, 2006. At some point, Ira Hobbs either stepped down or was removed from his position as overseer of Texas, however, he continued to remain in the 2x2 ministry. On October 18, 2006, Hobbs sent an ill-received faux apology to his accuser. Hobbs was shuffled to various states. Worker lists show he has been in the states of Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota and Louisiana. In October, 2007, he was removed from his position as Overseer of Texas and put in regular worker status. The friends were not informed as to why he was removed from his overseer position, and he continued to have free access to friends’ homes where there were children. Hobbs stepped down from his position as a worker in the 2x2 ministry on or about May 13, 2008. Mr. Hobbs was married on December 2, 2009. Love is most certainly blind.
